acnetreatment1 239x300 Acne Sensitive Skin Treatment
There are more ways to get rid of acne than most people realize. Especially in this day and age, you can find an assortment of acne skin care products and systems. The key is finding one that works well for your skin type. This means treatments that do not over-dry your skin or lead to redness and irritation. Different topical remedies work for different individuals. While you must always be sure to cleanse your skin daily, you do not want to over-wash your face. This can lead to more breakouts as well. While there are definitely effective ways to get rid of acne, they may differ from individual to individual.

One of the first things you should know about pimples and skin blemishes is that everyone’s complexion is different to some degree. Therefore the same oral and topical acne treatments will not work effectively for everyone.  Some people just have acne on their face  and others have it all over their body requiring an acne body wash to eliminate it.

Whatever your situation, our acne skin treatment blog will have tips for you on the different types of acne, acne products, and the various treatment types available.  Whether you prefer over the counter creams or more natural acne treatments, we will have advice for you.

Acne Sensitive Skin Treatment – First Things First!

Consider your diet and how it can have an impact on your skin. Not just how clear it is, but also how healthy it appears. A poor diet can lead to all kinds of skin problems and concerns. These issues can range from acne breakouts, to dark circles, to premature aging, to an unhealthy skin tone. The point is you should strive to consume foods that are natural and loaded with vitamins.

Vitamin C is something that everybody should take, regardless of whether they have acne or not. It is one of the strongest antioxidants that occurs naturally and will help to remove the free radicals from our body that are damaging our cells. This is one step in making sure that we have clear skin and many people have recognized a difference, simply by supplementing their diet with vitamin C.

Something else that you should be having on a regular basis is green tea. This excellent substance has been used in the Orient for thousands of years because of its healing properties. It is also a very strong antioxidant but may contain other things that help to clean our body on the inside which will go a long way in helping it to be clean on the outside. You can either take this in the form of a pill or drink tea throughout the day.

One of the first things you should know about pimples and skin blemishes is that everyone’s complexion is different to some degree. Therefore the same oral and topical acne treatments will not work effectively for everyone. But what if you have acne and really sensitive skin? Many topical applications may burn the skin or further dry it out. So what is available in the way of treatments?

Not only that there are different types of acne – acne vulgaris which is the more common acne and acne rosacea which requires special rosacea treatments.

Acne Sensitive Skin Treatment – Is Light Therapy Ok?

For those with really sensitive skin, acne blue light therapy may be a great option. This is a really gentle treatment that uses full spectrum light to treat acne breakouts. Many people have had great success with acne light treatment and now, with handheld, home devices available, it has put an end to expensive in clinic consultations.

Acne blue light as it is also known because it uses blue light to prevent further breakouts is a pain free therapy that is gentle to the skin, more gentle than any other therapy out there so great for those with sensitive skin.

Another form of light therapy is known as Photodynamic therapy for acne (otherwise known as PDT).  It does depend on the type of acne you have and the severity, but this method can reduce the amount of oil found in the pores of the skin.  While it was originally used for skin cancer, they are now finding that it has an effect on other skin conditions, like acne.

If you have acne scaring, then you will be able to choose an acne scar treatment that suits you.  Amongst them is laser therapy.  Unlike light therapy where you can buy hand held devices and do it as home, this method needs to be done in a clinic and uses a laser to work on the scars to make them less noticeable.  While it does not eradicate them completely, many patients have reported a significant change in the appearance of scaring and a reduction in the amount of scaring.

As far as prescription topical acne treatment creams are concerned, a few of the common ones available today are Differin, Retin A, and other Vitamin A creams that act as rapid exfoliants. You must keep your skin clear of dead skin cells, debris, dirt and oil in order to keep it looking great.  If you look around, you will find many acne free products on the shelf but beware, as those with sensitive skin often react to them.

Lastly, there are several acne products and systems advertised on television these days. As you may have seen, a couple of the more popular ones are Proactiv Solution and Skin ID. These are both claimed to be effective topical products for the right individuals. But, do they say what the right individuals are? People with sensitive skin need to be aware that these products are often tested and designed for people with normal to oily skin and sensitive skin can react totally differently when using the products. It is important to find out as much as you can about each product before buying it. Each brand claims to offer various systems to suit the needs of different individuals with different skin types and conditions.

Whatever you decide, acne sensitive skin treatment is available for those that do their research.  If acne is affecting your life to the point where you don’t want to go out, or stress about covering body acne or think that people are looking at your skin while you are out, then you need to seek help.

If you are a teenager, then this affects your self esteem as well.  Teenagers are far too unforgiving when it comes to those that are not “popular” or look different and their taunts and name calling and maybe even bullying, often result in those with acne feeling isolated and withdrawn.  If this is you, there are treatments available.  You may have to try several to find the ones that suit your skin type, but don’t give up if you try one and it doesn’t work.

Apollo light therapy is another type of light treatment that can be affective, as can Go Lite light therapy.  You may even need to see a doctor for acne sensitive skin medication or maybe changing your cleansing routine to an acne cleanser for sensitive skin will make a change.  In your search for acne sensitive skin supplies, make sure you find out all you can about acne as it relates to you and your skin type.  Don’t rely on others to tell you what you need, but do your research, find out the facts and then choose appropriate acne treatments and try them.
